My Students

With family backgrounds stretching across the world from Italy to Mexico, from Haiti and Honduras, we utilize our diversity to create an open minded learning environment. Our elementary school is in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, where children develop a love for learning in a nurturing and enriched educational environment.

Our school promotes learning through student based inquiry, discussions and project based learning.

We are equally concerned about young people's social and emotional development. The independence acquired as problem solvers in their studies is also encouraged in their personal and social lives.

My Project

In our class community, we value technology and the opportunities it provides in enhancing our learning and curiosities. Currently our public school has 5 fifth grade classes and 130 fifth graders that share 30 Chromebooks. This means that 130 students only have the chance to use a computer for one 45 minute period each day. We believe, in 2017-2018, that each child should have access to a computer throughout the entire school day. The goal of this project is to provide all 25 students in our class with a Chromebook computer to use as needed, in all content areas, everyday. Unfortunately, we are restricted in the quantity of Chromebooks we are permitted to ask for at this time. We hope to acquire 5 from this project and 20 more in the near future.
