This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My second graders are eager to learn and try new things. Their excitement for learning is empowering. I have already experienced their inquisitiveness and enthusiasm in the first few weeks of the school year.
My diverse group of students embrace their differences, encourage each other to do their best, and are dedicated to their learning.
The students in my classroom work hard every day to show their school pride. At our school every student is a safe, positive, respectful learner.
My Project
We live in a technology-enhanced world. Students are exposed to technology in and outside the classroom. I want to provide more opportunities for my second graders to experience hands-on technology with the use of Chromebooks.
The benefits of technology in the classroom are increased motivation and engagement, opportunities for individualized instruction, and an outlet for creative thinking.
The Chromebooks being funded with this project will give my students more structured exposure to technology. Students will have the opportunity to become more technologically literate. Students at all performance levels will have access to skills and practice that meet their individual needs. Lastly, my students will begin to showcase their higher-level thinking through technology-enhanced projects that support student creativity in all subject areas.
