My Students

My classroom is a safe learning environment where we support one another. Students are eager to collaborate with each other and are excited to venture into the challenges of secondary curriculum.

The first year of middle school is very exciting for my students.

6th grade is a time of new found independence and socialization. They are very eager to work together and take ownership of their own learning objectives and successes. As a class we work to harness these motivations to create a positive learning environment.

My Project

A large part of 6th grade core is developing a deeper understanding of the writing process and developing research skills that are the foundation of their academics success. Students will use the Chromebooks with our Google Apps for Education accounts to write papers (drafts and revisions), do online research, create projects (individual and/or group), and to collaborate with peers. They will use the printer ink and pencils while creating their projects.

The technology allows our classroom to be a true learning environment, giving the students access to tools that support current curriculum standards.

This will also allow individual students and small groups to work on things-usually we need to go to a different classroom or sign up in advance for technology. The immediate access to classroom computers will help the flow of learning and increase student interaction with technology.
