This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"I hope my son will make it to 10th grade like me!" is a statement I heard from one of my students’ dads. Under the right circumstances, his son is completely capable of becoming a successful college educated adult. The students in my classroom are faced with unimaginable challenges daily. Being a Title I School located within the inner city of Birmingham, Alabama, the majority of our students live in government housing. All students at my school receive a free breakfast and lunch. For some of them, these are the only meals they may receive the entire day. Many are given food bags to take home over the weekend.
My Project
My 2nd grade class has ten laptops and twenty students. We use laptops collaboratively in all subject areas. I am able to progress monitor each student individually with every program we use.
My classroom is a collaboration community!
We do many whole group activities where the students and I collaborate together to read, work on grammar, solve math problems, and research in science and history. A class set of laptops will give each student accountability in participation. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
