Chromebooks for Class: Deserving Students Need Resources
Help me give my students seven Chromebooks so they will have a designated place to conduct research, apply to colleges and scholarships, prep for standardized tests, and write/revise/peer review essays.
Our students are AMAZING! I teach at a magnet school for gifted and high-achieving students. We serve students in grades 6-12 from throughout our district. Students test for admission and most students are functioning above the 90th percentile. All students are working at least one grade level above their actual age. The students in my school are a true melting pot of nationalities, religions, and economic levels but the common trait that they have is the love of being challenged and learning new things. My students challenge each other, and me, to learn more and do their very best, both in and out of the classroom!
My Project
Our school is small but growing fast every year! Because of our size, there is no designated computer lab to take our students to conduct research, fill out college applications, or write papers.
Having seven Chromebooks in my class will open up a new world of possibilities for my students.
They will be closer to having a class set of Chromebooks where we can conduct research, fill out college applications and essays, and write/share/peer edit class essays at one time. This will also provide differentiated instruction, as I will be capable of having multiple students work on projects/papers individually without having to share a laptop.
