Each day in the classroom is different than the one before. Children are all different. The Dr. Seuss quote "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter, don't mind." speaks volumes. In my classroom all children matter.
My students come from a wide variety of economic backgrounds.
However, I feel that they should all be treated as equals. We have been given access to a wonderful program titled "Smarty Ants". This program meets the individual needs of each child. Children that struggle with reading skills need more time on the program, therefore I need more devices to meet their needs.
My Project
If more students have access to a computer in the classroom I can meet their individual needs more efficiently. Students today need to be entertained to keep their focus and attention. I'm requesting eight Dell Chromebook laptop computers and Google Chrome Management Console Licenses.
Using a computer with programs that are meeting their individual needs is the ideal way to focus on the skills they are missing and keep them engaged.
Smarty Ants is one of the many programs we use in our classroom to help students grow as readers. The more a student struggles with reading skills the more time they need on the computer. Having access to more devices is critical in meeting everyone's needs.
