My Students

I've worked in a NYC's Chinatown for 15 years. Most of our students are English Language Learners and many are from low income families. They don't all live difficult lives but many of their lives are not easy. But you wouldn't know it if you met them. I've spoken to many people who have come through our doors (volunteers, outside consultants, future teachers, etc.).

They all say the same thing, they love our kids.

They are always so motivated and eager to learn.

My Project

Our students are always hungry for more knowledge. They come to school ready to learn and be engaged. Many are first generation immigrants and/or come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They need and deserve every advantage they can get. My classroom, has a wide range of learners.

Chromebooks will allow me to better differentiate student learning by supporting and challenging students.

Through the use of technology, students will be able to tell stories with their own voices, explore places and time periods in more concrete ways through images, video, and sound. They will be able to share their learning more easily in a more expansive community, not limited to their own classroom.
