My students are students who want to escape the feel and atmosphere of an inner-city school. They come to my school to learn and become functioning citizens of their community. My students come from a low economic community. But they do not let this bring them down. My students bring love for each other and their families to school every day. This love for each other, and the caring from the staff, creates a caring and loving community in our school that can be noticed by anyone who enters the building.
Getting these Chromebooks would allow me to be more effective as a teacher for all my students. Having the ability to access the internet and use the many resources available on-line, on an everyday basis, would be very beneficial to the educational growth of my students. The students would also take their assessments for my class on the Chromebooks; this will help them acclimate to testing on a computer. Taking more assessments on the computer will allow them to have less test anxiety when it comes to taking standardized test on the computer.
Having the Chromebooks for my students would allow them to submit their exit slips/questions during class and give me an instant measurement of where they stand on topics that I am teaching.
The Chromebooks would allow my students to have access to a computer lab for learning any day of the week, not just when the schools computer lab is open for use.
