Our students are digital natives. They have grown up using computers, phones, cameras, and the Internet, yet we have so little of this technology to offer them for daily use in the classroom. This project would allow every student in my class to engage in 21st Century learning on a daily basis.
My students are in the fourth grade.
I work with 34 amazing students at a public elementary school in California. I have a wide range of learners, and each child in my classroom is unique. Our class is made up of students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and my students learn in so many different ways. They are eager to use technology to expand and improve their learning. My students learn best when they are fully engaged and what better way than the use of technology.
My Project
We need 3 Chromebooks to add to our classroom technology center. Chromebooks help engage students with interactive lessons and prepare them for an increasingly digital workforce. Computers and devices do more, however, than provide students with a platform and resources with which to learn. They also help engage students and close achievement gaps. Many of my lessons can be extended deeper with this tool. Chromebooks will motivate and inspire my students.
Computers in classrooms create an interaction between students and course material that accommodates different learning styles in ways that traditional curriculum cannot.
In today’s age, computer literacy is an integral component of any student’s learning plan.
