My students live in a rural area with a lot of poverty. They are so amazingly curious and love learning, but have little experience outside of this small town. Our school does not have the money as of now to have 1 to 1 chromebooks. We are using google docs, slides, and classroom with them when we can, but my dream is for them to begin coding in all subjects through various free websites. The sky is the limit with these chromebooks.
Please consider our class.
These students are an honest joy, and they really have so much to offer in the area of creativity, collaboration, and problem solving. I'd love to have the chromebooks to give them a solid foundation in communicating properly through the technological world, learning the basics of computer programming across all subjects, and learning how to use a device for good and to become efficient in their organization and take ownership of their education.
Seriously. These kids rock. So many are considered to be underprivledged, yet they haven't let this determine their mood, they love learning, and love learning how to use the five shared chromebooks our school has.
My Project
We are in a teeny tiny town and need some help with our chromebook excitement. We're learning what all google has to offer for us, but we don't have chromebooks to practice on. Our teachers have chromebooks, but the students have 5 on the whole campus.
I am so ready to become more tech savvy with my curious kids, but don't have the money.
They are ready to become more tech savvy. Somehow, with the limited and old devices we have on campus, we've managed to teach our 3rd graders google classroom, google docs, and much more. I am requesting four Lenovo Chromebooks so that my kids can have access to them in our classroom. Help our rural town blossom into one that is easily able to connect to the future.
