My fifth and sixth grade art students are a unique and diverse mixture of Chester County. When they arrive at my building, a fifth and sixth grade ‘center,’ they begin to discover who they are an what they want to be.
What I love about my students is that they aren't afraid to try new things and push the boundaries of their own art work.
They continue to surprise me with their creativity, ingenuity, and desire to learn both in and outside of the art room.
My Project
My goal is to have a set of rugged Chromebooks (with stylus') for my art room. This technology will allow me to use drawing apps and expose our artists to digital art, as well as give students a common resource they desire.
My students will be able to explore and create modern more meaningful artwork with the adaptation of touch screen and stylus, all within their google drive.
In addition to searching images for their art, students will be able to discover their own artistic talents with the ability to make presentations, videos, digital collage, design, photo-manipulation and photography.
Having these Chromebooks in my classroom will give my students more opportunities to explore technology in art and spark artistic dreams and career paths prior to high school. There is no "one shoe fits all" in the art world - my goal is for students to be able to discover their own unique self.
