Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach three classes of approximately 30 students each. The subjects I teach are science and social studies.

My students are passionate about learning and eager to discover more about the world around them.

This excitement is why I love my job so much and why I look forward to every school day. I especially love it when the students enjoy our learning material so much that they choose to spend their own time at home learning more about it.

My Project

I teach science and social studies. In social studies, we learn about American history- specifically the time period from the American Revolution through the U.S. Civil War. In science, we study space, forces of nature, and many other exciting topics.

Having Chromebooks for my students to use will allow them to conduct research, view pictures and video of the topics we are learning about, complete online assignments, and much more.

It will also give them the opportunity to build typing and computer use skills. Many of my students do not have access to computers at home, so school is the only opportunity they often have to get that exposure.
