My students need chromebooks to take their learning online. With this technology, they will be able to collaborate in engaging, rigorous activities that will prepare them for their futures.
In my 5th grade classroom, I am grateful to have 21 unique learners who bring their individual interests, talents, and qualities into our little community each day. My students strive to do their best, inspiring each other (and me!) to persevere through challenges and to “throw kindness around like confetti,” as we like to say. I take great pride in calling our class family and instilling a sense of belonging and leadership in my students. Through engagement, hands-on learning and inquiry, and a positive classroom community, my goal as an educator is to promote a great love of learning and passion for helping others.
Our school motto is "Small School, Big Heart," and we aim to spread compassion and empathy into the world through acts of kindness, support, and love.
Social-emotional learning is a top priority as we grow as leaders and take on the responsibility of being world-changers.
My Project
In 4th, 5th, and 6th grade at our school, students are learning to interact with the online world during our computer lab periods. However, we only go to the computer lab twice a week. We are unable to engage in interactive activities online that we will need to learn in order to be successful in a world of technology.
With these Chromebooks, our students will be able to apply the skills they are learning in the computer lab to their learning through web-quests, Google Apps, and online research in the classroom.
The addition of this technology to our school is the start to an investment in our students' futures in the online world. These Chromebooks will be shared between the upper grade classrooms of our school until we are able to purchase classroom sets!
