My school is a place where students learn how to be safe, respectable, and responsible students. As a teacher at a Title I elementary school with over seventy percent of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. We have substantial number of students who are unable to access technology outside of the classroom. I find there are times my students are not exposed to science and technology outside of the classroom.
Over a third of my students are English language learners with Spanish or Vietnamese as their primary language.
My students are always eager and ready to be 21st century learners.
Technology has become a crucial component for students, especially in elementary education. Students need to learn at an early age how to responsibly access and use technology in order to give them access to limitless opportunities in technology.
Our school does not have enough devices for all students to use on a daily basis, and many of my students do not have access to technology outside of school.
This makes it very difficult for students to learn how to use technology and use it consistently in their learning. Dell Chromebooks will give students daily access to technology to use in their learning, including research, writing and publishing essays, creating slide show presentations, reading and responding to articles and short stories. My English learners will use Dell Chromebooks for language development and access interactive math programs as well as leveled reading programs. Having daily access to technology will help prepare my students for a bright and successful future. It will reach the very diverse learners in my classroom which will motivate and stimulate their love of learning.
