My Students

My students are awesome, lively people. Our school is a neighborhood school so they are all walkers from the surrounding city blocks. 99% of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and all of them eat breakfast in the classroom in each morning.

My students are between the ages of 5 and 7 and are eager to learn and share with others.

They are enthusiastic about school, learning, and making friends. It is my wish to keep them excited about school and learning by eliminating as many obstacles as possible.

My Project

My students are highly engaged when using technology. My school recently purchased Lexia, a phonics and reading program that is computer based. The kids LOVE it and it provides me with valuable data and information on student strengths and weaknesses. I use this information to make small instructional groups. However, I do not have enough devices for my students to use the program consistently enough for ALL of them to meet their target usage of 40 minutes per week. These 4 chrome books will allow for ALL of my students to meet their weekly usage and provide me with accurate and valuable data to make instructional decisions.
