Chromebooks Connecting Language Students to the World
Help me give my students new Lenovo Chromebooks and Google Chrome education licenses!

Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are a diverse group of kids that come from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. There are many who are bright and filled with curiosity and others who are working hard to improve their work ethic at school.
Our school is a Title I school, but the kids are special in that they take care of each other inside and outside of the classroom.
I'm consistently amazed at their excitement in learning a foreign language and broadening their global consciousness in my classroom.
In my introductory French classes, I love to have my students engage with the outside world and interact with real websites in French. I'd also like to initiate a penpal project where I can help my students communicate with native-speaking French students around the world.
Having Chromebooks in my classroom will make it possible for my students to explore websites for museums, tourist websites for famous French destinations, and write to their penpals in a supported environment.
Because it's difficult for them to understand all of the content they would engage with in these settings, it would be ideal to have them do their research, activities, and writing when I can help them directly in class.
