My Students

My students are incredibly talented and insatiably curious 9th and 12th graders at a public high school for the arts. Students must audition to attend this school. They are passionate and dedicated to their talent. Many have spent years perfecting their craft prior to coming to high school. They make me excited to come to school each day.

My Project

Our English Department needs a dedicated class set of laptops. Currently 3000 students share one laptop cart of 20 computers. This has been unsustainable. It is imperative that students have access to laptops to be able to research and create original compositions. This is one of the best ways to prepare them for college. Students will be able to collaborate on projects as well as create essays and stories. Students will be able to peer edit through Google Docs and interact with digital quizzes like Kahoot! and Quizzizz. Students will be able to prepare their college essay in class.
