Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Starting this year, I am honored to be the Science teacher for 71 gifted and talented students in a newly transformed Dallas ISD Academy for TAG students.
My students are amazing: very smart, creative, funny, curious, they have great ideas and I learn a lot from them, myself.
They all work really hard to build a good future for themselves and their families.
I want to give my students the opportunity to build a strong love for Science. I want them to feel comfortable and important while in my class, I want them to know that their work matters. I want them to learn through exploring and hands-on activities.
I am passionate about making a difference in my students' lives as they are my future, our future, and they deserve the best.
Our school is located in a building constructed in 1951 and designed to host only elementary grades students. Any help with supplies will make a big difference in my science class!

My Project
My students are extremely smart and advanced, they are gifted students!
They need technology, in particular 1:1 access to computers, to explore more than what I can just show them, as they have many challenging questions, they are 'hungry' for knowledge and discovery.
I would like them able to do a virtual dissection, a small surgical intervention, review with online puzzles and quizzes, overall give them a preview of College days or Medical School, as these are the kids who will be the physicians, architectures and other advanced professionals of tomorrow.
It would be great to have a class set of Chromebooks to allow my students use them for research, learning and assessing. Thank you for helping me make a difference!
