Help me give my students a Chromebook to do research and publish their writing.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our school is part of District Reference Group which is the second lowest socioeconomic level a school can be placed in.
As an eighth grade ELA teacher, I have witnessed the great needs of my students.
A high percentage of the students who attend my school receive free or reduced-price lunch and struggle to have other basic needs met as well. These circumstances can make it very difficult for some families to afford basic school supplies.
Many of my students are also English language learners (ELLs) and need extra support when reading grade-level materials. The activities that we complete, both in and out of the classroom, are greatly restricted by the socioeconomic makeup of our student body and the lack of funding for resources, especially when it comes to technology.
The students in our school come from very diverse backgrounds and cultures and often do not have the support available at home that allows them to succeed at higher levels. Many students are struggling to learn the language while trying to complete their eighth-grade work. The students themselves are very willing to work in school and take the opportunity to utilize the limited resources that are available.
My students are explorers, researchers, and writers! Our class needs Chromebooks in order to further their research skills and publish their writing. One of the biggest lessons that I teach my students is to take pride in their work. This Chromebook will help my students dig deeper into their research topics and produce better writing because they will understand more about their topics. With the ability to type and format their final draft, students will be even more proud of the final product they have accomplished. Using this Chromebook, my students will be able to create digital portfolios of their work throughout the year to show off all their hard work!
