Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have extraordinary minds and are attempting to thrive in less than extraordinary living conditions. In this day in age where we struggle to praise diversity, we embrace our differences and celebrate all things that make us unique. We are building a community and a family where we lift each other up, and not tear each other down.
Our school has 100% free priced breakfasts and lunches.
And when living in a little community by the Colorado River with not many resources or places to explore it is important to empower these students and all students with a good understanding of what the world has to offer.
My Project
I am asking for a Chromebook for my classroom so that I can better monitor student progress within my classroom. The more screens I can have around me the better I can engage students to learn to the maximum of their ability by maintaining eyes on the work they complete as they complete it, and so I can guide them through the lessons to better teach them to mastery.
My students are struggling to have a consistent internet connection that is solid and does not cut out from class in the middle of a lesson.
If I had an extra screen to monitor those students during asynchronous activities I could guide them better than I currently am able to do. I would be able to email them, instant message them to guide them through these lessons as I am teaching the whole group lesson with the rest of the class. I have several students who are currently struggling to stay connected throughout the whole school day. This would benefit my classroom more than I could possibly say.
