Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in an urban district at a Title I school. Over 75% of my students receive free and reduced-price lunch. Working with these kids has been one of the greatest joys of my life. To see students increase their reading capacity, lexile, and love of learning in a year truly makes this all worth it.
My students are some of the most loyal, kind-hearted kids around, but not everyone realizes their immense potential because of where they come from.
I want to give them the skills and the resources they need to go into the world and prove everybody wrong.
My Project
My students are very used to being tied to a standard Chromebook where we limit their mobility because of how cumbersome they are. My goal with this Chromebook tab is to have a way where a student could take notes on the tab by hand and have the ability to send those notes to students who are absent or who struggle to copy notes and absorb information simultaneously.
I want my students to have a window into what technology will be available as they move into high school and eventually college.
I want them to have options for the type of technology they might purchase as they further their education. Being that the majority of the work they do is Chromebook based, this Tab will transition their work seamlessly.
