Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from an area where majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Despite their hardships, the students are eager to learn and do their best.
These students are eager to learn and present their projects.
The students love to engage in activities and long to learn but are restricted by the limited access they have to resources. There are many challenges we face in the classroom; having the resources would enhance their learning tremendously.
My Project
My students (like most students) struggle with math. Utilizing this laptop can enable the students to prepare and present projects to support inquiry-based learning in math. My students can benefit because I will be able to provide visuals and 3-Dimensional demonstrations in class. We will also be able to access educational short videos to make mathematics more relative. These tools will help motivate students to persevere and appreciate math in the world! The tools we need are a basic laptop to connect to the SMART Board, the required wire connections, carry bag, cable adapters and optical mouse (so we can be mobile in the classroom).
