This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very hard-working, inquisitive learners who love hands-on activities and engaging lessons. Most of my students come from low-income families who receive free lunch at school. I teach a diverse group of students as a third of my students are English language learners. School is a place for them to expand their minds and experience new and exciting things as they explore the world of science.
My Project
My students are in desperate need of Chromebooks in our classroom. I serve six classes of both 3rd and 4th graders. Unfortunately, our class only has 10 functioning Chromebooks which leaves us at a disadvantage and so we are constantly borrowing another classes Chromebooks whenever they are available.
These six Chromebooks will make a massive difference in my classroom by allowing my students to engage in online educational programs, complete assigned learning skills, and their individualized learning paths.
Chromebooks will then assist students with online guided reading, increasing their test scores for the state and federal tests. Providing us with the materials we need will help students become lifelong learners.
