My students need a Chromebook to use in the classroom. Right now, we only have one student computer. Students use this computer and often have to share, making it harder for students to complete their work.
Every day is a fun day in our classroom. As a teacher, my main goal is to teach the students and have a great time while doing it. I am constantly looking for more materials and ideas to help students become more engaged (and have fun) while learning. Everyday is a new adventure. We not only learn, but have a great time together. These students are not only my students but I consider them my kids! I would do anything for them and want nothing more for them to be successful.
My Project
Students in my classroom will be able to use a Chromebook across subjects. Students have access to one computer in the classroom. 22 students have to share this 1 computer! This makes it harder for students to complete their work online and be introduced to new learning technologies. Technology is the future and I want to prepare my students and get them comfortable using Chromebooks and other apps for learning.
Students can use this Chromebook as part of our literacy center rotations.
They can use this as the computer center as well as the listening center. Right now, we have books on CDs that we use. These CDs are not in the greatest condition. By adding a Chromebook to the classroom, we will be able to use different apps in our listening center such as Tumblebooks and Epic! These apps allow students to become better readers by listening/reading books of their interests as well as listening to a fluent reader.
Students will also be able to use this Chromebook to research various topics related to Science and Social Studies. Our favorite research site is PebbleGo and Brainpop Jr. We are studying habitats and are hoping to be able to make a digital habitat for our unique animals that we will be creating.
I am hoping to add at least 5 Chromebooks to my classroom for student use. If this project is funded, I will start another one for our next Chromebook. Thank you in advance! Our class appreciates all of the support!
