My second graders INSPIRE me to be a better teacher, AMAZE me with their willingness to learn, and MOTIVATE me to improve and enhance their learning. It is important for students' learning to be shaped with more 21st Century opportunities to increase critical thinking, problem solving, creativity and teamwork. A challenge I face is having adequate technology resources, and meeting the diverse needs of all my students.
My students come from widely diverse backgrounds and military connections are strong, being part of an Air Force community.
Some of my students are English language learners, others have special needs, some are gifted and talented, while most are from low socioeconomic means. It is my belief when teachers and students are provided opportunities to work alongside each other to reflect, solve problems, build relationships, and work collaboratively, positive learning will result.
The classroom environment I create is a harmonious productive working community where young minds can thrive, feel comfortable taking risks, and develop a love of learning while relying on each other. Adding a Chromebook would greatly impact our classroom and connect my students to a world of opportunities, while improving collaboration, communication, and creativity!
My Project
Technology gives students from every background an opportunity to learn, and shared what they've learned, in their own special ways.
My students will work in small groups using this requested Acer Chromebook to explore topics, read literature about the topics, and create their own products about the topics to share with their peers.
My students will built leadership and teamwork skills as they collaborate while exploring through the Acer Chromebook. They will take pride in sharing their own works as they create digital products to showcase what they've learned. These products may include: digital posters, slideshows, short movies, Google presentations, and/or Google documents with images.
The Google Chrome Management Console License will allow me to manage the content and usage of the Chromebook.
