My Students
My class is an inquisitive group of 6 and 7 year olds. Each student brings a unique background that makes our classroom a diverse learning environment. They love to investigate concepts that are of interest to them and share their new understanding.
Teaching 1st grade blesses me with unique opportunity to witness firsthand that aha moment, when a child realizes that they understand a new concept.
Through DonorsChose, I hope to provide my students with tools to helps them dig deeper into their understanding creating critical readers, writers and problem solvers.
My Project
I am hoping to integrate technology into my student's day to day lives with the use of Chromebooks. They will practice reading and math skills through the use of interactive games that make learning fun and engaging. They will also be used to publish their own writing to share with others.
This project will make a difference because it will help to prepare these students at a young age for the technology that will be needed throughout their educational careers.
Technology is part of our everyday lives and it is crucial that students learn how to safely and effectively use it at a young age.
