Incorporating technology into the classroom helps motivate students to learn. I teach math and science to a diverse group of intermediate school students, who are full of energy and eager to learn.
Our inner city intermediate school includes grades five and six, with a wide range of learning styles and abilities.
It is important to differentiate in order to meet the unique abilities of all our students. We also have a large population of English Language Learners. The students in our school enjoy helping each other learn and it shows!
In my classroom, I have found that technology has been incredible to personalize learning and connect with students who may otherwise find it difficult to engage with our skills and concepts.
In our district, however, funding is limited and access to computers becomes difficult.
Disengagement has become something of a common denominator across our school district over the last few years. Many students are absent from school regularly and miss opportunities to learn. Using technology in the classroom will truly motivate my students to attend school daily. We have found that starting as early as elementary school, it has become increasingly difficult to get children to school on a regularly.
My Project
Chromebooks will provide the opportunity for personalized learning in my classroom. The population of students is very diverse, which means that differentiation is important. This new technology will allow personalized learning for individual students, finding new ways to connect with them. Students will have the ability to utilize chromebooks during math time in order to performance tasks throughout the school year.
Chromebook will allow me to personalize my students' education with technology and connect with them on a daily basis.
By using technology, we can meet unique learning styles and find ways to keep my students motivated and engaged in their education.
