This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students: I teach sixth grade science in an inner-city middle school in Houston.
It is a Title I school (where more than 90% of the students receive free or reduced lunches). Because of their socio-economic status, students do not get to interact with technology as much as they should, until a very late age. Since the world is becoming more integrated with technology, these students need to be exposed to it so they may be able to compete with their peers.
My Project
My Project: I teach science and I use a lot of technology in the class room, such as Goggle Docs, Web 2.0 tools, and Internet. Once I complete a topic, the students are asked to do a project using technology. It could be in the form of the students making a video, or using Goggle Docs, or any Web 2.0 tools or apps. This exposes them to a variety of advanced technology and makes them more comfortable with its use. The students love my class for the technology they get to interact with. It makes them more attentive and receptive to the topics I want to teach.
