My students need flexible seating options in the classroom. Wobble chairs will allow students to get fidgeting in, while cushions can be used on chairs to add comfort and support, or on the carpet.
My students are bright and inquisitive. They search out knowledge and information in all aspects of their learning. School should be a safe, fun place where they feel free to express themselves and be creative.
My classroom is highly differentiated throughout the academic day, allowing for ample independent and group work time.
Whole class instruction is still a key component to instruction, but I can meet the needs of more students more effectively using a rotational model. In such a model, all students are actively engaged on tasks related to a specific subject area and/or standard while I am meeting with a small group of 3-6, giving specific instruction that those particular students need.
Students complete assignments using paper and pencil, computers, white boards with dry erase markers, and a variety of different art and engineering supplies throughout the day.
My Project
Students are expected to do quite a bit of sitting these days. Some students need more physical movement throughout the day and wobble chairs are a great solution for highly active students. Wobble chairs allow students to get the physical aspect of fidgeting, while remaining focused on their work.
Flexible seating allows students to make decisions on about their work environment.
Cushions can be used in a variety of ways. They can be a back support on a desk chair, lift up a smaller student to reach the desk better, or can be used at the carpet while completing floor work.
