My Project

My students are amazing. I have students from all over the world, places like Afghanistan, Nepal, Yemen, Congo, Somalia and even Bangladesh. While they have been through a lot in their personal lives, every day they come to school with big smiles, ready to learn and always willing to participate.

Diversity is what makes our world beautiful and unique.

My plan is to take these books and make inclusive lessons that will highlight why being diverse is a strength for our community. Some books are about being from different places, and I want to highlight that so we can all share our own stories and write about where we come from.

These books would really help my students see themselves within the stories which open up a world of possibilities of being anything they want to be. More important these books will show my students that their stories are worth writing and remembering too.
