My Students

I teach 60 sixth grade students. The majority of my students come high poverty, low income, single parent homes. My students desire to learn and be successful and they will do whatever it takes to get there. My students have not always had the opportunities to show and prove their knowledge.

We are going to reading the novel "Wonder" and explore how we can help our world to be kinder.

I would like for our students to be able to explore the novel and complete different projects and activities. My goal is to teach our students how kindness can make our world a lot better.

My Project

This novel, Wonder, will allow my students to explore the novel Wonder and the world of Auggie. They will learn how to "Choose Kindness" and be more like Auggie. Our students will be able to step out into our world and know how simple kindness can affect someone's life.

Our student's will sign a kindness pledge and pledge to be more like Auggie.

The novel study will give them life example of how important it is to be kind and to be a true friend to their classmates. This will be the first of many novel studies will be complete this school year.
