This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are growing to become dedicated life-long learners, preparing themselves to be college and career ready! Each and every day, these students challenge and encourage themselves to earn a better education. They strive to be leaders and work hard in all aspects of school. They turn themselves from followers to leaders by following school expectations and obeying social contracts created by the class. We are located in a small community where supplies are limited, therefore we need your help!
My Project
The book Wonder has such a deep and amazing meaning for children to learn about. This novel focuses on a child who has been home-schooled his whole life until middle school. His parents worry about sending him to school due to his face looking different than others.
This book will provide an outlook for my students and hopefully encourage them to step up and be brave.
I am hoping that these students will be able to work in groups and have different roles each week. Students will be held responsible for their book and will be relating it to the movie at the end of the year.
