My Students

My amazing students live in a rural area, and more than half survive below the poverty line. My classroom is an inclusion class. This means that I teach students with disabilities along with their typically developing peers.

I learn as much from my students as they learn from me.

Despite the challenges my students face from learning difficulties to poverty, they continue to have good attitudes. They are eager to learn. I want to fill their space with the tools that help them to have the same opportunities as children in more prominent areas. My students deserve every advantage.

My Project

Wonder by RJ Palacio is a wonderful piece of literature. Our third graders are currently reading this novel and love it. The teachers are witnesses to our students actively choosing to be kinder. The block buster movie comes out in November and we would like to keep the passion alive for this amazing there.

If you can be anything, be kind.

This is the theme of the book. This book teachers tolerance for others who are different from ourselves. The author speaks from different voices to depict how bullying effects everyone, not just the bully and the victim. We love the message that this book delivers and we thank you in advance for helping us make this happen.
