Choose Chairs to Provide a Strong Learning Foundation
My students need new chairs that adequately fit their body size without cracks or missing screws and allow for maximized learning potential.
This project expired on October 20, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My first graders are thoughtful, creative, individuals who are eager to develop and grow as learners. They arrive to school each day with positive attitudes and genuinely display a sense of excitement as they begin to learn the foundational skills developed throughout the first grade year. They spend their day learning to read and write, developing crucial math skills such as problem solving and number sense, and participate in a variety of artistic projects that bring learning to life through real world application and experiences.
The students that make up my classroom embody everything exciting about the learning process; their innocence and innate curiosity are the daily inspiration that drives me to want to provide the best learning environment and experiences for them to continue to foster their thirst for knowledge as life-long learners.
These new chairs will provide a safe, comfortable chair that is conducive to the learning experiences provided in our classroom. Currently our chairs are outdated and unsafe as they are over thirty years. They are cracked and have missing screws which can cause disruptions to the learning process.
Our current chairs are also only 12 inches tall and are often too small for today's children.
Many of the students are uncomfortable trying to fit into these chairs. The 16 inch chairs are more appropriate to their growing size and allow them more leg room to stretch while sitting. Thank you for your consideration.
