My students need to have different choices when it comes to seating within the classroom environment. The stools, balance balls, peanut balls, and bouncy bands will give them the opportunity to choose their seat.
As a teacher in a Title I school, there are many challenges that my students face daily. I am constantly trying to come up with ways to help my students become more enthusiastic about their education. My students have so many more obstacles to overcome than you could ever imagine. From single-parent households to a low socioeconomic status, my students have the odds stacked against them. I think my students deserve the very best when they enter my classroom.
My students are creative and energetic.
They love working on projects that get them moving around the room and expressing their thoughts about whatever we are working on.
My Project
Having these seating options in my classroom will help my students have a sense of independence, feel comfortable, burn some energy and add a little fun to their day. This will encourage them to be more creative and they will be more likely to participate in classroom activities. The bouncy bands, for example, will help them get the wiggles out while continuing to focus on the task at hand. Since the bouncy bands are attached underneath the desk, students are less likely to distract others while wiggling and bouncing.
I want to give my students every opportunity to succeed.
I think that having different seating options such as stools and balance balls is one way to ensure their success!
