My Students

My students are a diverse group of students from all backgrounds. This is my first year teaching middle school, and these kids have shown me how resilient they are, but also how much the pandemic has affected their well-being. Many of them need additional help with focus and anxiety-reducing accommodations.

A class set of headphones would add a tremendous amount of comfort and focus for my students.

My goal is to make my students feel safe and comfortable at school. Being able to provide snacks for my students is also a way of helping secure and comfortable goes a long way. Even with free breakfast and lunch, students are still growing and are constantly hungry. Being able to provide snacks has been so beneficial, but also extremely costly.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. They are needed nearly every day. I just need help in getting them to my classroom! The headphones will allow students to concentrate on what is in front of them, instead of the noises around them. It will also allow them to review material at their own pace. The snacks will provide a bridge between meals. For many students, this is the only chance they have to get additional food.
