My students need more options for centers around the classroom. Providing them the materials to succeed is such a valuable gift. My students need a variety of tables to sit at, choices in chairs and differentiation.
My project will help my Kindergarten class. My students will be creative, innovative young leaders. This will be their first time in a full day school setting. I am building life-long readers, lovers of literature, creative thinkers, and effective writers.
My students are passionate, caring, and eager to learn.
Everyday is a new adventure in our classroom. I like to build a classroom that develops children to being the best version of themselves. My Kindergartners are the best example of how we should be everyday. Fun, loving and excited to just be around.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! My students will need differentiation around the classroom while working collectively in their centers. Centers are the time that students are grouped and work together on accomplishing one task. One example of this may be a Roll and Record type game where they Roll a dice that has a sight word on it and record the sight word in the designated place on the worksheet. The little end tables with stools that I am requesting will give differentiation as far as seating goes in the classroom to work on these types of centers. The little tent gives the kids the opportunity to utilize a center in a different type of space in the classroom, its more of a "Fun" choice and will hopefully engage the kids in what their center choice is they are doing. The red teacher cart that I am requesting will give me that ability to move around the classroom and provide important small group time.
The materials requested will give my kiddos fresh choices and up to date materials that provide the best educational experience.
Actively engaging in centers everyday is such a valuable learning experience for both the kids and the teacher. I have requested different center options for the kids to choose from. We are looking for sentence building games, sight word games and pocket chart games. These are up to date games that provide Kindergartners with essential skills to master standards. By utilizing all these materials together the classroom will have a better opportunity for flexible and engaging learning.
