Help me give my students a comfortable learning space. My students love to spend time on the floor learning. The area rug and lap desks will help my students in finding a good place to sit.
Teaching each child in my classroom to own their own learning is one of my goals this year. In my classroom, I encourage students to make choices that will help them to be the best learner. There are many different methods and environmental choices in which they learn. The students are able to choose what they feel will help them to give 100% in our room. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
Flexible seating is something that we have started to embrace in my classroom. The students are in charge of selecting a place for them to be successful in learning. As we are still in the early stages of flexible seating, these items will help us move toward making better choices and freeing up some of the space currently occupied by and an old rug area and bulky desks. My students favorite spots are undeniable the floor seats. They choose to sit on the Bohemian Arrows Gray Area Rug with clipboards, ECR4Kids The Surf Portable Lap Desk/Laptop Stand or at desks that have been lowered as far as they can be. They will be able to utilize the Honey-Can-Do Portable Laptop Lap Desk to comfortably take advantage of the floor seating.
Thankfully our school building was not directly affected by Hurricane Harvey, however many of our students have been feeling the effects of this storm and the devastation to the area around them.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. I have learned that student success rates are better when students are allowed to make choices in their learning. Flexible seating is just one way to boost student learning.
