This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I'm a High School Level Chinese Language Teacher in an Urban Community. I teach grades nine through twelve and an inclusion class with special education students without a teachers aid.

My students need origami paper to create decorations for the 2009 Chinese New Year Party to celebrate the year of the Ox.

We plan to set up an origami center in the school library to teach guests how to create paper cranes and flowers.

You'll give my students the chance to create something with their hands and bring Chinese New Year alive.
