Help me give my students art supplies for an ongoing Chinese New Year inspired cross-cultural art experience. We are going to be learning and practicing calligraphy.

My Students

I teach k-5 art in a Title I District in Chester, PA. My students demonstrate resiliency and determination. They are willing to challenge themselves and in doing so foster a lasting sense of self confidence. I truly enjoy teaching in this community.

My Project

We have been learning about Chinese culture through the Lunar New Year celebration. We learned about the legend of Niam, dragons dancing and other customs surrounding this holiday. Now we are focusing on Chinese calligraphy. Today we practiced different characters in pencil but we would like to use bamboo brushes to get a more authentic experience! Your donation would help supply the neccessary materials we need, rice paper and brushes. Thank you so much for your generosity. The students have been very excited about this subject and I look forward to seeing their creations.
