As Dr. Peck wrote ..."Life is difficult." I find this statement true for adults and many times for children, especially in today's society. The kindergarten students I teach are wonderful little people. They come from diverse ethnic backgrounds and have various personalities.
Students, regardless of their obvious differences, are more alike than what meets the eye.
Kindergarten for these children is a gateway for school life and for life beyond school. As a teacher, I want my students to make right decisions, be independent thinkers, and caring and trusting individuals. I want them to learn everything they should in kindergarten. Kindergarten, I believe, is a unique experience for children. As a teacher, I use many resources to create a good and inviting environment for our classroom, and to be a special place for the students. Carpet, books, easels, and materials are quite expensive. It is evident that Donorschoose.org recognizes this truth. School is a place of opportunity for children to reach their potential and to have opportunities available to them. It's truly the way to have a better life. It is my personal goal for my students to reach their full potential and to have a wonderful life.
My Project
My students need a rug to be able to sit on & an easel to see things clearly. The carpet will brighten up my classroom making the classroom more colorful and inviting for the kids. It will also provide a nice, clean place for them to congregate. The easel will serve as a teaching tool. There is so much that a movable easel will add to the classroom experience - most of all ... not limiting the learning space to one chalkboard.
My project is important because my kids are important.
Any and everything that can brighten and enhance their learning experience is a positive. I truly believe that this carpet and easel will do just that.
