My Students

I have 24 amazing Kindergartners in my classroom who love to learn! In Kindergarten we learn so many things like our letters, numbers, reading, and writing. This year we have really zoned in on Social-Emotional learning in the schools. We focus on skills like making friends, being kind, helpful, and understanding. I'm so excited that my students are not only learning academics but how to be a kind and respectful citizen in today's world. They're a great group of kids who love to learn.

My Project

Students will study a new book each week to learn how to understand new vocabulary, retell the story, and write their opinions. We will follow a program that goes through a 5 day process of studying books. The first day, the students will be read to and discuss what they learned or liked about the book. The second day will focus on retelling the story in sequential order. The third day focuses on understanding the plot, characters, and setting of the story. On the forth day, students will learn new vocabulary from the book. On the fifth and final day, students will write about the story.
