Eastern Scholar House Head Start Program is home to 72 children. Our center's main population is for the children in the Scholar House Program; which is for single parents going to school full time. We are taking a whole family approach where education is key for not only the parents going to school but for the children birth to five years of age.
We also provide services to families living in poverty, homelessness, or are in foster care.
Our Head Start program is a comprehensive early learning program for preschool-aged children. It is designed to meet children's emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs.
My Project
We will be putting together a multicultural night at Eastern Scholar House. Each classroom will be learning about a different country's culture. They will learn about the country, food, artwork, attire, music, and stories. We will have each classroom set up as a different country for this night and they will show off what they have learned. We will utilize the clay to show the different types of pottery from each country, the music will be utilized to help students see that everyone has different types of music, the art materials will aid in their interpretation of the culture that they have learned about, and the multicultural kit will provide learning materials about each country. The books will help tell the stories of each country and show the children different aspects of each country being addressed.
