Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Many of our students come from shelters and single-parent homes, therefore, they're lacking supplies for school. However, they come excited to learn every single day. It's difficult to facilitate a good lesson without the much-needed supplies that would make learning fun for our students however, many can't afford it from home. Any aid will be beneficial and a welcome change for our students who come ready to learn each day despite their needs and deficiencies. If you’re able to, please reach out to our students!

My Project

The past few months were torturous for many of our children who comes from low income families due to COVID. I would like to lift the student’s spirit with musical instruments. Our school’s mandating taking time to address the mental health of all students. Music benefits children’s brain development, it relieves stress and it helps them focus, they get to express themselves and it’s fun. I will use the instruments to help students relax and ease their nerves before tackling reading and math lessons.
