Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school site has three Pre-K inclusion classrooms. Our program is funded by Head Start and Florida VPK and includes very low income students as well as students with disabilities. Most of our students speak another language and the majority start school without any exposure to the English language.
Due to the low socioeconomic level of our families, their exposure to quality educational experiences is very limited.
Our goal is to provide as many quality educational experiences as possible throughout the school year.
My Project
We were recently gifted with a wonderful set of iPads, however we are still using partially broken or inadequate headphones. This project will be for three Pre-K classrooms. Our children would benefit from quality headphones that were designed to be used by young children. These headphones also have a limit to the sound level in order to protect young children's hearing.
Another feature is the ability to connect two headsets together so they can work together on a game.
This will help the children practice cooperative learning and teamwork. We are looking forward to increasing the effectiveness of the technology in our classroom. Thank you for your support!
