This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 28 students are an amazing group of kids who literally walk through the door every morning with a smile on their faces and ready to learn. I am equally excited everyday to share with them new information and experiences that I hope will carry over into their future academic successes.
Some of my students spend upwards of 10 hours at school since we offer families a free before and after school program.
We are a Title I school where most of our kids qualify for free breakfast and lunch everyday. Knowing that I have students in my class that live in the state of poverty breaks my heart, but at the same time warms my spirit by being able to be a part of their educational lives.
My Project
Having a classroom incubator and hatching eggs will be the most amazing science opportunity I can provide my students. I'm hoping this will be an experience that my students will never forget. I have a science kit that I will be using in conjunction with hatching our eggs. This exploration kit demonstrates each of the 21 days it takes to hatch the eggs and what is going on inside the eggs everyday of the cycle.
Teachers go above and beyond to create fun and memorable learning opportunities for their students, especially when we know they might not have these kind of hands on experiences outside of school.
