Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am blessed to teach special education, moderate to severe, community-based instruction programs for high school students. We are a Title One school, serving a diverse population. The students I work with are determined and strive to persevere through social, emotional, and academic challenges.

Working together, helping the students strive toward independence, we are part of the high school student body.

Students work with peers on the yearbook staff, attend school activities, and volunteer daily in the community. They excel with movement and hands-on experiences. I am blessed to be their teacher, encouraging students beyond their greatest expectations.

My Project

We have returned from the pandemic and many of my students are at a loss about life, love, truth and friendship. We will begin our journey with Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. After we finish these short stories, we will read Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul on Tough Stuff, digging deeper into these life issues.

Students will have an opportunity to have real-word discussions, guiding them throughout high school and beyond.

This encouragement will help students take control of their life, and teach them how to have meaningful conversations with peers and promote literacy. Thank you for helping to encourage my students with your donation.
