This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I work in an alternative social emotional learning school environment. Therefore, we have students with a variety of disabilities. We have been blessed with the opportunities to hatch and raise chickens within our classroom and playground. The students use this as an opportunity to grow their social emotional skills by helping take care of the chickens and build their knowledge of the animals.

These chickens come at the cost of upkeep and feeding, which the students love being able to help with.

These supplies can make sure that the students can help our little playground chicken farm thrive for months to come.
