My school is located in a rural town. We have about 300 students total in the school. There are currently 11 students in my classroom, all of whom receive special education services for a variety of disabilities including autism and intellectual deficits.
My students crave responsibility and sense of pride and having this project funded would mean the world to my students.
It would offer them real world examples of responsibility and independence. It would help me teach them so much about vocations, life-cycles, responsibility, and caring for others.
My Project
Our students began hatching chickens this year. Unfortunately, we had to return the chicks not long after they hatched so we were unable to see the full life-cycle unfold. We would like to continue raising the chickens so that we can see the life-cycle in full view as well as build responsibility and independence in vocational skills. We need an incubator to hatch the eggs, a tub to keep the chicks, and a coop to keep the hens and eggs. We will be collecting eggs and selling them make up for the cost of the chickens. Your donations would go towards the coop and other startup costs including: feed, incubator, and a heat lamp.
