My Students
Our classroom motto is "Never say I can't, always say I'll try!" This year we will be the first class of second graders to be departmentalizing! This is an exciting opportunity, and I am so excited to really focus on math, science, and social studies with my students. My students are very eager to learn, and I long to give them the materials necessary to flourish.
They love learning new things and putting their new knowledge to good use.
They are great team players and are always ready to help a friend. Our classroom community is very close knit and full of hugs! We love each other and respect each other and strive to display respect and kindness every day.
My Project
This year is my first year teaching second grade. I have really enjoyed teaching my students all about life cycles. I love to do hands on, memorable projects with my kids. The past two years we raised butterflies. This year we are raising CHICKS! I think this projects is one that my students will remember for a lifetime. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a real incubator but I didn't let that stop us! I built my own!
I am hoping to get this incubator to teach our life cycles unit and ensure that we can get as much out of this project as possible.
I'm not sure how far this homemade incubator will take us but I hope that we can get a real incubator to give our eggs a better chance at life. Hopefully you can help us out!
